Dean
& Beire Kramer -
Church Planting in the Cape
Although we are just a small church-plant ourselves, MountainView
Bible Church is supporting the planting of another church in the
Kuils River area of the Western Cape.
Dean
and Beire have been married for 19 years. Beire grew up in a Muslim
home and accepted the Lord as her Saviour in her matric year. Dean
has a degree in law, and worked for 14 years as an administrator
at a teachers' college.
In
1989, Dave Devore, church-planting missionary with ABWE, planted
Community Baptist Church in the Kramer's home. They served at Community
Baptist church (our sending church) for 13 years in Blue Downs.
Through the 1990s, Dean sensed the Lord's call into vocational ministry
and was equipped through studies and internships in the Church Ministries
Institute of the Cape. In 2000, Dean received his BA in Theology
through the CMI-Potchefstroom University programme.
The
Kramers started the Emmanuel Baptist Church project with three families
attending a Bible study in their home in Kuils River in 2002. The
next year, they started meeting as a church. By mid 2005, they had
about 15 families attending.
Dean
and Beire have a daughter, Nicole, who is a student at Stellenbosch
University, and a son, Luke, who is in high school.
Francois
& Ramona Jardine -
Church Planting in Guateng
After
matric from Waterkloof, Francois Jardine attended RAU to study psychology,
and he played rugby with the Blue Bulls and the Lions. But he could
not escape God's call on his life to go into the ministry.
Francois
left RAU to attend Evangelical Bible College in Cape Town. During
those years of study, he was very involved with youth and served
as an AWANA leader and commander in different churches in the Western
Cape. He was also involved in missions to India, Swaziland, Lesotho,
and Namibia. It was on these trips that God first gripped Francois'
heart with a burden for missions and church-planting.
Francois
received his Bachelors degree in Theology from EBC in 2004. He began
serving as the Youth Pastor of the Evangelical Bible Church in Eldorado
Park, near Johannesburg. It was here that he met a young accountant,
Ramona.
RAMONA
grew up in a Christian home in Eldorado Park. Her family attended
the EBC church, and Ramona grew up in the youth, trusting Christ
at an early age. Ramona attended RAU and received her BComm in 1999.
Francois
and Ramona were married in April of 2005. While Francois served
as an assistant pastor at the EBC church in Eldorado Park, Ramona
worked as an accountant. By God's grace, they saw the EBC youth
grow from a handful to about 60 young people.
Francois
earned his Honours in Bible from International College of Bible
and Missions in Roodepoort in 2005. He is currently studying for
his Masters degree in Biblical Counseling under Wayne Mack of the
Masters' Seminary in conjunction with Northwest University-Potchefstroom.
The
Jardines joined Biblical Ministries Worldwide in 2006 to learn about
church-planting in the context of doing it. They are being mentored
in ministry by David and Karin Brown, BMW's team leaders and church-planters
at Mountainview.
Francois
and Ramona are ministering at Lawley Family Fellowship, in an informal
settlement southwest of Johannesburg. They currently have about
50 people attending, some young and some old, some spiritually newborn
and others mature. They are an ethnically blended congregation,
and are seeing spiritual fruit as lives are changed by the Word
and the Lord.
